Justin is a composer, writer, performer, music director and arranger.
As a writer/composer Justin's favorite credits include: Bonfire Night (Book, Music & Lyrics); Halfway Home (Music & Lyrics, Book by Adam Bock); Madam C.J. Walker Project (Music & Lyrics); Pepper and Sam (created and performed with Salty Brine); Jump Jim Crow: How to Produce Your Own Minstrel Show (Music & Lyrics). He is also the resident composer for award winning choreographer Doug Elkins, and their collaborations have been seen/heard at Lincoln Center, the Joyce Theater, City Center’s Fall for Dance Series, Jacob’s Pillow, the Baryshnikov Arts Center and much more.
Notably, he served as music director, orchestrator and cast member for the hit musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson both on Broadway and at the Public Theater; was MD/orchestrator for the critically acclaimed rock opera Murder Ballad at Manhattan Theater Club; MD/collaborating producer for David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's Here Lies Love at the Public Theater; he was seen holding down multiple jobs as MD/orchestrator and playing the role of Moth in Shakespeare in the Park's production of Love’s Labors Lost, adapted by Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman.
He travels all over the world for both work and pleasure to places including Myanmar, Morocco, Iceland, Australia, Portugal, Hungary, France, Spain. In 2014 he toured Saudi Arabia as part of the U.S. State Department’s American Voices Initiative. He is based in Queens.
